The food trails of India are infinite and one among them is Sindhi cuisine. The Sindh, though not a part of modern India, but has its food roots widespread in India and beyond. Sindhi cuisine has numerous signature recipes curated long ago and the food culture is still favorite of many. This was my first introduction to Sindhi cuisine at Sindh Kitchen and I was curious & ready for a Sindhi palette.
Located in Malleshwaram, near to Mantri mall - A metro ride led me to this place. A lift to the 3rd floor opened up an ethnic ambiance of Sindh Kitchen. The well-arranged seatings with the windows curled up with curtains overlooking the streets of Malleshwaram. The aptly chosen ceiling lightings with subtle interiors and jaali partitions were pleasing to me. They do have a private dining area well maintained rustic look. Thanks to Mounish, Vandana, Akshay & Caroline to introduce me to the detailing of Sindhi cuisine.

The welcome drink lime mint cooler shooters gave me a refreshing feel for the scorching afternoon and had the apt blend of lemon & mint. Following this is a series of platters filled with two types of chaats. The Palak pattha ki chaat with deeply fried palak leaves savored with curd and chaat spices. This was mouthwatering and I couldn’t count how many of these I gobbled up. Sev Papdi chaat with small papads topped with potatoes, added chutneys, chaat masalas, and sev. This tasted usual to the sev papdi chaat but was definitely more perfect here.

Now it's time for the Sindhi cuisine. All the below food menu from Sindhi cuisine were new to me and it was great for me to enjoy them.
Dal pakwaan - The most famous Sindhi breakfast dish. The pakwaan is nothing but the deep fried crispbread which is served with the lentil dal topped with sweet chutney, onions, and chilies. A sinful breakfast which I totally loved.
Aloo Tuk - Being a potato fries lover, this happened to please me to the core. The Aloo Tuk was the fried smash potato sprinkled with chili, salt & tangy chaat masala. This was heavenly at every bite.

Sindhi kadi chawal with meetha boondhi - A soupy kadhi that’s tangy, hot, spicy and mixed in with the rice. The combination would be divine and made me eat more on every bite. The meethi boondhi was supposed to be a combination, but I just had separately.
Sai bhaji with Buga Chawal - Rice cooked with caramelized onion and served with bhaji of greens and veggies. This is a traditional Sindhi dish with more than 2 types of greens included.
Sindhi wadi - The authentic Sindhi dish which is made with sundried dal spiced dumplings called Wadis, that are cooked along with potatoes and brinjals in an onion tomato gravy. Absolutely delightful.
Koki with dahi - The onion based thick flatbread served with curd was a delightful combination.
